One Day Workshop!
In December 2009 the current standards for Machinery Safety Related Control Systems will become obselete.
BS EN 954 part 1 will be replaced by BS EN ISO 13849 part 1 with some significant consequence for Machinery safety engineers.
In summary, new machine safety functions will have to be engineered to a Performance Level (PL) rather than the familiar Category B, 1-4. It is likely that significant changes in documentation and the necessary PL calculations will require that engineers seek assitance from suppliers of safety related equipment.
Here at SICK we want to offer our customers leading industry support.
