Within the DFS60 incremental encoder family there is a product to suit almost any application, making it universally applicable! Realising that different applications require different levels of performance and can therefore justify different budgets, the DFS60 family contains products offering 3 different performance levels. These are classified as;

• Eco (E) – for the most simple applications, up to 2,048ppr
• Basic (B) – for standard applications, up to 10,000ppr.
• Advanced (A) – for the most challenging applications, up to 65,536ppr
Programmability Within the Basic (B) and Advanced (A) product lines are customer programmable devices. Programmable incremental encoders have a great appeal, serving end users as a universal spare, system integrators as a product which can be tailored to the applciation and OEM's as an invaluable development tool. Programmable characteristics include;

• Resolution: 1 - 10,000ppr for B-types, 1 - 65,536 for A-types
• Output signal levels: TTL (5V) or HTL (10-30V)
• Zero/Marker/Index pulse width: 90, 180, 270 electrical degrees
• Zero/Marker/Index pulse position: Any desired shaft position

Unique construction The DFS60 uses a new pick up technology utilising a robust metal code disc. This enables the DFS60 to offer unrivalled levels of shock and vibration resistance in conjunction with highly accurate operation. Furthermore, the encoder can be operated over a very wide temperature range.

To guarantee super smooth running, high accuracy and a long service life, the 2 bearings inside the DFS60 encoder have a very large separation. This may seem like common sense, but the DFS60 is almost unique in this regard. Most encoders of this type have a much smaller bearing separation which has a detrimental affect on the service life and accuracy of the speed/position feedback. |
